Um. I never had a journal before and I was never good at introductions. But if you really want to know who I am, then I'll tell you- My name is Brody Dalle. I'm the lead singer, guitarist, and lyricst for The Distillers, a punk rock band that truly kicks ass. So I guess now's the part where I tell you a little about myself and try not to bore the fuck out of you. I'll try but it might be a fruitless attempt. Well here goes.
I was born in Fritzroy, Melborne, Australia. I had an average childhood. Or at least it was average for me. I wasn't dead and I was still breathing. That's good enough for me. In 1995 I met Tim Armstrong-who was the frontman for the band Rancid. I lied and told him that I was 19 instead of my actual age at the time, 16. I was a bad girl, heh. When I turned legal, I moved with him to California. A few weeks after that we were married, so that's good. It was different being married. I wasn't like a housewife. I didn't know how to cook or do any of that stuff. *shrugs*
And of course I went to California to start a punk rock band. It's sort of history from there, I guess. Myself, drummer Andy Granelli, bass player Ryan Sinn, worked the road hard, touring and singing. And then we asked Tony Bradley to join the lineup, who at the time was only a lackey. So now we were complete. Our first album, The Distillers, did pretty good. I think our sound has matured, though, and our 2nd album Sing Sing Death House did just as good.
Our newest album is called Coral Fang. It has some of my favorite songs on there, including "Drain the Blood". The band sounds really good and I think my vocals sound alright. It came out last year. So far people have been really liking it and that's always good. As of right now we're doing the touring thing and writing lyrics and working our ass off. All that good stuff.
So...I guess that's it. I've made me intro, even though I didn't give my whole biography which most likely you didn't want. I hope you read it anyway and liked it. I know I did. Alright, that's sarcasm. But still.
